We’re on a mission to create a space where the rhythms of the island and a love of movement meet. The Pearl is proud to be a women- and minority-owned small business, operated by and for the Bronx. Our staff is as diverse as the community we serve, and our doors are open to everyone.

The Pearl is The Bronx’s only group Pilates Reformer studio, with our City Island location also offering yoga, dance, senior, kids, and the borough’s only prenatal class. At our new Mott Haven studio, we’re building on that foundation: a place where movement can change your life - shifting your energy, sharpening your focus, and reconnecting you to your body. Showing up here is showing up for yourself.

We understand that trying out a studio or a new type of exercise for the first time can be intimidating. That's why our focus is on making you feel like a part of the group from the moment you walk in.  We see a studio where everyone, regardless of age, background, or fitness level, feels welcome and supported in their wellness journey.

  • We have a Welcome Offer for new, first-time visitors to The Pearl - 40 Credits to use in two weeks for $59.  The idea is you use this time to check out our large variety of classes and different instructors and find out what you love most & how frequently you’re able to come in.  40 credits gets you 5 yoga or mat Pilates classes, or 2 Pilates Reformer Classes, or 1 private or duet session. You can mix and match your classes as you like. Click the “New? Start Here” button in the top right corner to get started. 

  • The Pearl uses a credit system for class bookings, ensuring seamless payment for various class types. Think of credits as your movement currency. With different packages available, including recurring monthly memberships and credit packs, you can choose the option that best suits your needs.

  • We offer a variety of classes across different modalities, including yoga, mat Pilates, Pilates Reformer, meditation, and dance. We also offer kids’ movement classes, senior classes, and perinatal classes. Our experienced teachers provide a range of options suitable for all fitness levels.

  • Booking classes is easy and can be done online through our website or on the Walla app. Simply create your profile, log in, choose your preferred class, and book your spot. Classes are available to book up to two weeks in advance. Workshops can be booked up to a month in advance. Our aim is to make the booking process easy and convenient.

  • Start with a Pilates Fundamentals class (or two, or three!) before joining one of our open level classes, and let us know before we start that you’re a newbie! Our experienced instructors will guide you through proper use of the Pilates equipment. We know you’ll fall in love with the Reformer.

  • Yes! Members enjoy exclusive benefits, including deeply discounted rates, guest passes, occasional swag, and a 10% discount on in-studio items. Members receive a set number of credits per month, and have that month to use them. Up to 16 unused credits roll over to the next month. Having credits that you have to use is a motivator to schedule your classes, get into the studio, & start moving - because it’s easier to follow through when you have a plan!
