SUMMER’S LOOKIN PRETTY GOOD AROUND HERE ☀️

Every time I think we've settled into a routine, someone comes along with an exciting new idea. A new class. A new teacher. A workshop. A meditation series. An outdoor event. Suddenly the calendar starts growing again.

 

Summer is starting to look like one of those seasons.

 

So here's what's new around the studios...

 

🔥 Welcome, Sal! (Mott Haven)

We're SO excited to introduce Sal. She's the founder of StrongHER Girls, a highly credentialed strength coach, and someone who's really passionate about helping people build confidence from the inside out through evidence-based, sustainable movement.

 

Beginning this week, she'll be teaching two new mat classes in Mott Haven every Tuesday and Thursday:

  • Mat: Slow Burn 8:15am
    A slower-paced class that emphasizes control, stability, mobility, and deep strength. You'll move thoughtfully, breathe intentionally, and leave feeling strong without feeling rushed.

  • Mat: Ignite 9:25 
    A more energetic mat class that turns the dial up a notch. Expect creative sequencing, strength, endurance, and a satisfying challenge while staying true to great movement.

We have a feeling you're going to love her :)

 

🌳 Community Outdoor Yoga Around the Bronx

This summer, guest instructor Lauren is taking yoga outside. Lauren is a lifelong City Islander who's been practicing Dharma Yoga for more than a decade and is currently completing her 200-hour teacher training. She works in affordable housing and community development and believes that good things (like yoga) should be accessible & that Bronxites deserve them.

 

Throughout the summer she'll be teaching a rotating outdoor yoga series in parks across the Bronx for just $5. Every dollar raised will support earthquake relief efforts in Venezuela alongside our Community Classes and Ana Maria's fundraiser classes.

 

We've already raised $180 in donations, and the CI Move for Venezuela class only has a couple of spots left! If you can't make the classes, but want to contribute, Venmo @pearlmovementstudio with the note "Venezuela Relief"

 

🧘 A Free Six-Week Meditation Series

We're also so happy to welcome guest instructor Lindsay O for a six-week meditation course at our City Island studio. Lindsay is a mental health counselor whose work integrates mindfulness, meditation, breathwork, and cognitive behavioral therapy, helping people build a stronger relationship with themselves and finding greater balance in everyday life.

 

The series is free, but because each week builds on the last, we're asking everyone to commit to attending all or most of the six sessions.

 

📚 Teacher Training Begins July 18

Our Pilates Teacher Training starts July 18, and we couldn't be more excited to welcome our summer cohort! Because training takes place at our City Island studio over three weekends (July 18 & 19, July 25 & 26, and August 1 & 2), you'll notice an abridged City Island schedule on those dates. Thanks in advance for your flexibility while we help prepare the next generation of Pilates teachers. We'll be back to our regular programming after Teacher Training.

 

💃 Little Ballet

Our Little Ballet class has officially begun! We'll take a short three-week summer break before returning, so if you've been thinking about enrolling your tiny dancer, there's still plenty of time to join us for the remainder of the session, just send us an email or talk to someone at the Front Desk :)

 

🍂 Escape to Kingston This Fall 

The waitlist is open for our Hudson Valley retreat is officially open! Think crisp October hikes, yoga & Pilates, chef-prepared meals, cozy evenings, apple orchards, and a weekend away with a small group from The Pearl. If you've been craving a reset, we'd love to have you.
