Imagine...

You're lying on wide-plank floors that have held a hundred and fifty years of hymns, staring up at twenty-five feet of stained glass, and late afternoon October light shines in, low and golden. You have nowhere to be until Tuesday. Nobody needs anything from you.

Three nights, eight guests, peak foliage, and the chance to finally exhale. We’ll move together in the mornings. We wander in the afternoons - hikes through fiery fall leaves, explore the charming streets of Kingston, a visit to Rose Hill Farm during apple season. And in the evenings, we do the thing none of us ever make time for at home: we linger. We’ll chat over long meals, gather round a cozy fire with a glass of wine or a cup of tea, and simply slow down.

There's room to nap, to journal, to disappear into a corner of the Great Hall with a book and surface only when dinner smells too good to ignore. It's a chance to breathe a little deeper, move your body because it feels good, spend time with wonderful people, and enjoy one of the most beautiful weekends of the year.

Where we'll stay...

Church des Artistes was built as a Romanesque church in the 1800s. It’s now a guest house, transformed by an artist-and-composer couple who spent a decade turning into a place people don't want to leave. Original stained glass, a grand piano, and a harvest table long enough for eight people to actually talk to each other, all at once, the way you always mean to and rarely do. Outside, a quiet brick courtyard offers another place to slow down between adventures.

We’re keeping our group small on purpose. Eight guests means the house stays quiet in the way that lets you actually hear yourself think and full in the way that means you're never really alone unless you want to be.

Why Kingston?

One of New York's oldest cities, Kingston is the kind of place that feels like it was built for exactly this. Historic brick buildings now house independent bookstores, cozy cafés, thoughtfully curated boutiques, antique shops, wine bars, and some truly incredible restaurants. Artists, makers, chefs, and musicians have helped shape a town that somehow feels both vibrant and completely unhurried. Nobody in Kingston is rushing anywhere, and by day three, neither will you.

October is the month to see it. The trees are putting on their annual show, farm stands are overflowing with apples and pumpkins, and crisp mornings give way to afternoons that are perfect for hiking, wandering, or lingering over lunch outside.

We'll introduce you to a few of our favorite places, but we've also built in enough free time for you to discover your own.

What’s Included

The Weekend, Loosely

Arrive + Unwind. Arrive at the house, settle into your room, and meet your fellow retreat guests over snacks and drinks before we begin the weekend with some gentle grounding yoga.

We'll gather for a cozy family-style dinner prepared by your hosts featuring seasonal dishes, local ingredients, and plenty of time to get to know one another before the weekend begins.

Friday Evening

Move, Hike, Feast. We'll start the day at So Young Pilates before heading to Minnewaska State Park Preserve with picnic lunches in tow.

Spend the afternoon hiking among waterfalls, cliffs, lakes, and some of the best fall foliage New York has to offer before returning to the house for a little downtime.

In the evening, we'll head into historic Kingston for dinner at one of our favorite local restaurants.

Saturday

Kingston + Harvest Season. After another morning Pilates class, the afternoon is yours.

Browse bookstores, antique shops, coffee shops, and boutiques in Kingston, grab lunch wherever catches your eye, or simply relax back at the house.

Later we'll visit Rose Hill Farm to soak up everything we love about Hudson Valley autumn before returning for restorative yoga, one last chef-prepared dinner, and a bonfire to close out the weekend.

Sunday

One Last Morning. We'll enjoy breakfast together before an energizing yoga flow, hugs goodbye, and checkout around 11:00 am.

Or... if you're anything like us, you might decide to spend just a few more hours wandering Kingston before heading home.

Monday

If the weather has other ideas, we’ll swap the hike or farm for Dia Beacon - a converted factory turned world-class contemporary art museum on the Hudson. It's the perfect place to spend a cozy fall afternoon before returning to the house for a chef-prepared dinner, a glass of wine, and an evening by the fire. Sometimes the best retreat moments aren't the ones you plan for.

WENDY YANG CLARK

Founder, The Pearl

Wendy founded The Pearl Movement Studio and has been practicing Pilates for more than two decades, which is long enough to know that the best class is the one where nobody feels like they don't belong. Wendy is passionate about creating spaces where people can genuinely relax, connect, and enjoy themselves, and this retreat is an extension of everything she loves most about The Pearl. She built the studios to be rooms people actually want to walk into, and this retreat is that same instinct, with even better scenery.

SOYOUNG PARK

Founder, So Young Pilates

Soyoung began her Pilates training in South Korea in 2015, where a curiosity about movement quickly grew into a lifelong passion. After moving to the United States, she completed classical Pilates training under Karen Frischmann before expanding her education into neuroscience-based movement through the Kopelle Method and Neuro Studio. Her work is driven by a desire to understand not just how movement works, but why it works differently for every body.

Today, Soyoung specializes in working with clients with neurological conditions, including Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and stroke recovery, while also teaching group classes rooted in the belief that movement should feel both effective and enjoyable. She continues to study and refine her approach, helping clients build strength, mobility, and confidence through thoughtful, individualized movement.
